We found this little park that had all of the old, now illegal, toys. You know the TALL metal slide. the metal see saws, and a metal merry go round. The kids had a BLAST!
At camp the kids ran around wild, chased the cows, played with the dogs, and rode the zipline over and over and over again! The first night we put the kids to bed and stayed up and played games in front of the big wood burning stove. Fun times!
One of my best friends, Bonnie and her son Preston. The kids found a wasp nest and decided to play with it while we were busy making dinner. Poor Preston got stung at least 10 times. and Cambree got a couple too. We were worried about Preston though. Neither one had ever been stung and we were super far from any cell reception or hospital so we were praying neither of them were allergic. Thankfully it all turned out ok...but holy moly that poor boy had stings EVERYWHERE.

Bridger and Nathan on the zipline. I'm not sure how Nathan got wrangled into helping all the little kids but he was definitely a trooper. and the kids LOVED it!

Ok so the plan was to find some lake or something free to go swim at. Well the weather was a little windy and the water we did find was not children friendly. But we also had two dogs with us...so we weren't sure what to do when we found the Heppner city pool. But seeing how we were in a TINY town and there were only like 3 people at the pool they allowed us to bring our dogs inside if we had kennels for them, which luckily we did. Also it was super cheap. I think it cost us $10 for our whole family to swim. They also let the kids go down the big slides with a life jacket...that they provided. They even gave us water bowls for the dogs. We seriously doubled their pool population for the day. It was awesome.
This was pretty much the entire pool, but we practically had it all to ourselves! The kids had a BLAST!
My little fishies! Also Cambree learned how to go underwater here and she just kept doing it over and over and over. She/we were so proud of her!
After swimming our friends left to go home and we headed back to camp. The kids were pretty much exhausted so we hurried and made dinner and then put them to bed. Then David and I crawled on top of one of the giant tables and watched the stars. We hadn't done that in a really long time. It was nice just to relax and enjoy being outside. Although, it didn't last long because we were exhausted also. I think we crashed by 10:00. The next day we got up and had breakfast and headed home. Then we packed away our camping gear until warmer weather next summer. (although, we do hope to find some cabins for winter camping) WE LOVE CAMPING!

I have about 4 comments to make that I am doing all at once.
a)The pic of David and Cambree at the fair made me do a double take. David looks like he could be Nathan's brother! Crazy!
b)I LOVE the pic of your little family.....the one where we're getting ready to swim and Bridger is upside down in David's arms.
c)That was a super fun little camping trip. Next time we should try a nature hike to spice things up. Or cow tipping. Just sayin'.
d)We had so much fun, I am serious that we need to head over to the San Juans this winter. With kinds. Then go to the Bahamas or vegas without kids.
