Polynesian Cultural Center

I am really just trying to get this done since it happened almost two months ago and life is passing by waiting for me to document. So not much words just a lot of pictures. Sorry I forgot how they load and they are all backward, but I am not going to take the time to switch them because I have a few more posts to get done.

Wednesday of our trip we went to the PCC (Polynesian cultural center) Seriously a cool place. Our cousins, Matt and Amanda had some friends in their ward that worked here so we got the serious hook up! We got to be ambassadors for the day for HALF of the price, so nice!! It poured rain the whole day, but really it didn't bother us too much. We had a tour guide that was so so funny and he took us around to all the different villages of Polynesia and we got to learn about their culture, see them dance, and do fun little games. Then we attended one of the luau's that was super super yummy and watched more Hawaiian dancing. Then they put on an incredible night show with all of the different Polynesian Islands performing. Plus we got the scrumptious pineapple ice cream, (for free) YUM!!

This guy was HILARIOUS! He did one of the performances for us in his village (I will have to ask David again where he was from) Anyway, he is a painter and he was selling some of them in one of the shops so we stopped to take a picture with him before the night show.

Here he is at his village, he kept stopping what he was saying to pose for all the flashes going off, he really was pretty funny!

Hair plays a significant role in some of the Polynesian cultures. I thought this picture was very interesting. they try and make and keep everything as authentic to the culture as possible at the PCC. The end guys hair fell off in a big wind storm and keeping true to the Polynesian culture they didn't allow anyone to put it back on or replace it.

They do a canoe parade with each of the Islands, and they danced on top of these canoes.

This was at the Fiji Village. I loved their makeup and clothes!

It was a great day and we were definitely exhausted by the end of it, but I would definitely go back there, since there is no way to have time to do and see everything.
