Seattle

The beginning of May we left the kiddos with the Grandparents in Moses Lake and headed to Seattle! We started with a trip to the Temple. Varon met us there and we had a great session and then ate in the cafeteria there. I hadn't ever been through a session at the Seattle Temple and the last time I had eaten at the cafeteria was when we had gone to do baptisms as a youth in High School! Then we headed back to Varon's house and picked up his wife Mandy! We then headed to a Mariner's game!

Mandy and Varon Larson, some of our great friends! Varon graduated High School with us and David and him were really great friends through high school. These are some of our life long friends! We love them! Also here is a fun fact. Mandy, Varon, and David all served in the same mission! Mandy was a few years later so they didn't know her then. But David and Varon served in the same mission at the same time! Crazy right?!

The Mariner's lost but it was still a great game and we had even better company so it didn't really matter the outcome. Also they played the Minnesota Twins, and one of the guys on the Twin's actually went to High School with us and graduated with my sister. Most of us had his Dad as our history teacher. It was fun to see Ryan Doumit play and have that Moses Lake connection!

The next day we did a little shopping and then headed up to Deception Pass for a BBQ on the beach and a little hiking. It was beautiful there! (David just leaned over while I was typing this and said, "a little shopping? we practically waisted the whole day" which isn't true we shopping for like an hour...maybe two)!

Varon BBQ'd up some yummy steaks!

Taking in the beautiful scenery.

Of course  you can't go to a beach without a football! While David and Mandy threw the football, and Varon cooked our food I walked around collecting rocks for Cambree and looking for shells.

I didn't find any shells but I did find a few dead crabs! HA

After lunch the boys played around on these rocks. Until Varon took a tumble and then we put a stop to it. Luckily he wasn't hurt too badly and he was a trooper to still hike with us, even though he could hardly bend his knee, due to it being badly scraped up!

We hiked up to this bridge and then walked across. It was crazy being in the middle of the bridge and looking down to the water. It was a beautiful view though!

This was the bridge we crossed.

The next day we attended Sacrament with them and then headed home. We got to my parent's just in time for Sunday dinner and then we loaded up the kiddos and headed home. It was a great weekend to spend together with great friends! We are headed back to their house this coming weekend, this time with the kiddos so we can attend my brother, Taylor's wedding! Thanks for letting us crash at your place Varon and Mandy!

Oh man! I grew up about 30 min away from deception pass. That place is gorgeous. You just made me a little jealous :) Glad you guys had a blast and despite the mariners lost you still had fun.

Sounds like a blast! I think I would feel a little scared walking on that bridge and then looking down in the middle. Beautiful pictures of the area and bridge.
