So David and I had some errands to run today so we cleaned up the house all spick and span and then we headed out. We had just gotten to our car after the mall and this guy comes up to us and asks if we have $14 to buy a new hose for his car, because he was broken down with his wife and three kids and they were trying to get back to Yakima, where they live and apparently owns a bowling alley because he told us that like a thousand times.(he said if we ever came bowling there he would buy us dinner!!! He was actaully really nice.) Well he had grease all over his arms and hands so it appeared that he had been looking under his car or whatever, and he wasn't dressed shabby at all. Well it had just happened that we had been to the bank before the mall and gotten out some cash, which we rarely ever have cash on hand but we needed it for some things. We didn't have exact $14 but we gave him a $20. He said we could give him our address and he would pay us back when he got home, but we didn't want this guy to know where we lived, just in case. Anyway, to not make this story any longer, we saw him as we drove away from the mall smoking a cigarette, and I turned to David and said, "I hope he didn't just use that money to buy cigarettes...?" David responded with the same hope, but then said, "well it is on him now..." So I hope that he really was telling the truth. I have decided that he was and that he was getting into a car with another man and that nice man was just taking him back to his wife and kids and broken down car, and just happened to offer him a smoke. What do you think? Well if you think differently... I still want to think he was telling the truth!! (HAHA)
Well we are off to Moses Lake in the morning. My brother is giving his mission farewell on Sunday. And get this, he had surgery today, hopefully he makes it(through his talk that is. He did well in surgery!!) I love living so close to our family!

We have a few guys that beg here year round..we give them a couple dollars occasionally, hoping they will use it wisely. However, Tyler saw two of them together the other day...buying beer in the gas station. Unfortunately it makes us lose hope in people who beg. A friend also told us they actually offered to give one some work to do...(his sign said "will work for food")and the guy rudely said no!! Oh well, it's our job to offer to help if we are able, and try to have faith in them!!
